Sociological Images is offering a great display of Olympic athletes as “the perfect body.” These athletes are thought of as having ideal fit and fitness levels and being at the top of the pack, so it’s interesting to note how much they differ. Once again, the idea of beauty and body perfection is proven to be fluid and different amongst individuals.

They’re all tone, streamlined, normative expectations of bodies. There is nothing revolutionary or new about this post. Sure they’re of different races, sexes, genders and height…..but they all look extremely normative to me.
I agree they are way to normative for my tastes. and why are they all glistening with sweat?
